You get what you plan for

I wanted to share something with you.

My husband and I have been married for 25 years, and about four years ago,
I said to my husband, “I want to buy a ridiculous ring,” because I hadn’t,
apart from my engagement ring we’d been pretty, you know, paying off a
house and doing the responsible things.

But four years ago, I said, “I want to buy a ridiculous ring.”

He just looked at me and he just gets it.

And so, I started a savings plan four years ago.

I invested in a high-growth investment, which was a little bit risky because I
obviously didn’t want the stock market to crash a month before my ring was
due.

But I did have that savings plan together, and I did receive about 5% return
per annum for those four years, and I got my ring.

I actually live what I preach.

I save, I have goals, and there’s no magic wand.

You know what you want.

You set a goal.

You know when you want to achieve it by.

How are you going to get there?

I’ve done it, and I’ve done it all my life, so I’m really excited to have my new
ring.
